Karnataka - Others Kishan Patnaik remembered

CHITRADURGA, SEPT. 29. Rich tributes were paid to the veteran socialist, Kishan Patnaik, who passed away recently.
Speaking at function organised by Janapara Vedike, Chitradurga, here on Wednesday to pay homage to Mr. Patnaik, the seer of the Murugha Math, Sri Shivamurthy Murugharajendra Swamiji, stressed the need to maintain probity in public life.
The noted writer, Banjagere Jayaprakash said that Mr. Patnaik was a "bairagi" in post-independence Indian politics.
Mr. Patnaik participated and shaped many people's movements, he said.
M. Jayanna, general secretary of the Bahujan Samaj Party's State unit, chaired the meeting.
Narenahalli Arun Kumar, journalist, welcomed the gathering.
Challakere Basavaraj and Banjagere Vishwanath, conveners of Janapara Vedike, spoke.
